Biharsharif is a muslim pilgrimage centre particularly during the annual Urs fair. Biharsharif is located 13 km from Nalanda, near Patna. It remained an Islamic cultural centre upto the 16th century. The dargah (tomb) of Mukhdoom Shah, a 13th century muslim saint and Malik Ibrahim Baya are sited here. The city of Patna stretches along the south bank of the river Ganga for about 15 km. at the confluence of Son, Punpun and Ganges rivers. Mahatma Gandhi Setu, 7.5 km long, one of the longest bridges in the world also crosses the Ganges at this place. The hotels, main railway station and airport can be spotted in the western half of Patna(Bankipur), while the older and more traditional area is to the east, in Patna City. The hub of new Patna is at Gandhi Maidan.

Season :
During summer maximum temperature crosses 40 degree Celsius quite often, while in winters maximum varies between 20-25 degree and minimum temperature can dip to 5 degree. Best season to visit to Patna is between November and March.
