The symbol of the ARCHER expresses the character of those born between the dates of November 20 and December 19. Like the arrow that flies swiftly to its goal, Sagittarians are at their best when they are trying to get somewhere or accomplish something. Oddly when they have hit the target, it no longer satisfies them and they are off on another quest. It is the dream of most Sagittarians to visit distant lands. They enjoy mingling with diverse peoples, learning about their habits, lifestyles and beliefs. Even when they can't get away, they will enjoy reading travel guides and magazines. Sagittarians are the optimists of the zodiac, although in their enthusiasm they may exaggerate some. Actually they are surprisingly lucky when they believe in their own abilities. Sagittarius are the original risk takers and can always come up a plan for some new enterprise. Disappointment can't keep them down. Sagittarians are just like an inner tubes in water; they have the ability to bounce back from almost any setback. Whatever happens, they can make it into a good story!
Each Sagittarian has a personal philosophy of life which leads to a particular place in the world. Generally the more education acquired the better. The school might be Oxford or the university of hard knocks, depending upon circumstances. For those who can settle down and study, await the professional careers of physician and attorney, perhaps even judge. The more intellectual Sagittarians will move to the front of the class as a teacher or professor and later to dean. The possibility exists of being appointed to positions of trust such as ambassadors, or elected to public office. The idealism of this sign produces lots of preachers, philosophers and propagandists. Many Sagittarians like to act on their hunches and do well in advertising, marketing and speculating. Some Sagittarians prefer the company of animals, with dogs and horses being the favorites. These individuals can become veterinarians, breeders and trainers. Typically the roles of outdoorsman, the hunter and explorer exemplify the adventurous nature of Sagittarius. Many famous sports figures are born in this sign.
Sagittarians must have their freedom. For that reason many of them resist making commitments and remain single. If Sagittarians feel that they can think and move as they please, they do settle down as supportive mates. They may not care to give an accounting of their actions, but they can be trusted to curb their wayword desires. Sagittarians are impulsive and cause consternation when they speak for others or jump to conclusions without knowing all the facts. Female Sagittarians are no fonder of routine domestic duties than their male counterparts. Frankly they too prefer to be outside in the sunshine and on the go. All Sagittarians make for adventurous companions. They have a good sense of humor and whether they know it or not, they are usually entertaining.
